After learning about women's Infradian rhythm and how it compares to the Circadian rhythm of men and society, I designed a journal to track my own cycle, and sync my life to work alongside my body.

So What Is Cycle Syncing? Cycle Syncing is when you adapt your lifestyle to work alongside your body through each phase of your monthly cycle. These adaptations can be with diet, exercise, social gatherings, and even work.

Why?

I have always been someone who struggled with a monthly routine. Some people thrive off routine but this can be difficult to keep up over a month, especially when I'm not feeling 100%.

Once I started implementing a monthly routine (cycle syncing), I was able to develop more sustainable monthly goals.

When my hormones and body are at their full capacity, I do the most work. I can push my body and I can accomplish more. When I start to feel more tired and experience my pms symptoms, I deliberately change my schedule to give myself more rest. This includes walking instead of intense exercise, sleeping more, and eating foods that give me the energy I need. If I give myself rest during this time, I can do much more the following week.

By using this journal and being consistent, the goal is to see a pattern emerge to be able to apply and plan the weeks ahead in advance.

Is Natural Birth Control A Real Thing?

During your Cycle, your body temperature fluctuates depending on what phase you are in your cycle. Your daily temperature can actually be used as a form of Natural Birth Control or help with planning conception because as you learn about your body and track your temperature, a pattern will begin to appear. This is NOT as reliable as birth control, especially if you're just coming off of hormonal birth control. Please consult your doctor and do your own research as I am not a doctor and this is not medical advise. That being said, I use my knowledge of my body and cycle syncing to determine when I should be using protection to prevent against pregnancy. It is an interesting observation that the more you work on stabilizing your hormones and giving your body the nutrients and support it needs during each phase, the more reliable and consistent your body becomes.

To best use this beginners journal, you will have to determine when your body switches from one phase to the next. There are four phases: Menstrual, Follicular, Ovulatory, and Luteal. Start the journal when you start your period; this signifies Day 1 of your Cycle.

This journal was designed for women to observe and learn from their bodies about embracing their inner Infradian Rhythm (28-day physical, hormonal, and emotional cycle) and the unique mechanisms your body has for you to live your most harmonious life. We were not designed to only live in the Circadian Rhythm and true homeostasis comes when you embrace everything that your body has for you. You will be guided to journal through 3 monthly cycles to allow your body's internal patterns to emerge, plus you'll receive tips to support your body, such as foods to eat, exercises or hormone changes. There are extra days provided in each phase for women with differing cycle lengths, so only use the days you require. You will need to observe and infer what phase of your cycle you are in with the help of the techniques provided in my guide.

If this sounds like something that you're interested in learning for yourself, you can find the Cycle Syncing guided journal here.
